Message
from the Assistant Principal
Dear Parents and Students,
This is my first year as Coast
High School’s Assistant Principal. I
am excited to be part of a program that offers students an
opportunity to be successful. Achieving your goal at Coast
requires self-discipline and personal accountability. Last
June, 71 Seniors accepted those responsibilities and received
their diplomas at graduation. I am confident our caring CHS
staff will help you realize your goal of earning “TWO
CREDITS PER WEEK!”

Student
Advisory Committee
Gathering input from students
is essential to maintaining a quality educational environment.
Please contact me if you are interested in serving on this
committee.
Have you
passed the CAHSEE?
We can help! Talk with your
Guidance Counselor or Specialist for testing dates and information
about preparation courses offered at Coast.
Are you thinking about transferring to Coast? Throughout the
year we receive inquiries from parents wondering if our program
will benefit their students. A profile for successful students
is difficult to create because our students are extremely
diverse academically, socially, and personally. However, they
do share several characteristics. They are goal oriented,
self-reliant, motivated, competent readers/writers, adept
at managing their time and employed or active in structured
social activities.
If you are considering a transfer to CHS, you must discuss
it first with an administrator at your student’s high
school. The administrators will discuss the pros and cons
of Independent Study with you. I encourage you to contact
me by telephone or e-mail with any specific questions.
Stay in touch!
